Vaping has been around long enough for most people to start viewing it as a mainstream lifestyle choice. However, there are still many skeptics out there who would rather stick to cigarettes because they find vaping a bit confusing or pointless. You can have the best vape juice in the world, but if people don’t even want to give it a chance due to prejudice, it really won’t do you any good.
It’s good to be a bit distrustful of new products that haven’t been tested sufficiently, but millions of people have consumed vape juice by now, and we do know what to expect. So, how do we explain all this to a skeptic and get them to try vaping without pushing them away or coming across as pushy?
Here are a few essential tips that work great, even on the most skeptical minds out there.
Dispel Common Myths Right Off the Bat
People are afraid of the unknown and will be reluctant to try vaping if they’ve heard all kinds of horror stories. The key here is to be fully transparent about the basic facts and actively seek out and dispel common myths. There are risks involved with inhaling anything into your lungs for years on end, but that doesn’t mean that anyone is going to explode as soon as they take a few draws.
Be proactive about this and educate people on the subject, both face-to-face and online. People often look for answers on social media, from family, friends, and influencers, so keep posting and build up a decent audience on social media.
Determine Their Needs and Lifestyle
Some of us like to kick back during a work break, take a few draws out of our vape pen and clear our mind. Others prefer to use different flavors at the end of a long day, and some are always on the move and need something a bit more compact. Of course, there’s always those who find vaping because they use CBD tincture for pain and have heard that it’s an excellent way to get the benefits without the harsh taste of CBD oil.
Before you start talking about anything else, ask the skeptic about their lifestyle, habits, when they like to relax, when they’d usually light up a cigarette, and how strong their preferred brand was. Once you know a little bit about them, and you get them talking, it’s easy to bring up some cool vape juice options that would fit them perfectly.
Address Any Image Concerns with Appropriate Products
Many people will see an image of a hip 20-something with a chunky modded vape pod obscured by a cloud of vapor and are put off by it. At least half of the people who walk into a vape shop are 30+, serious professionals, often with their family. If you’ve already shown them that vaping is nothing to be scared off, all you need to do is give them a few examples of the kind of people that buy vape juice regularly.
Once they see that even business people, lawyers, hard-working moms and dads, and even spunky old-timers and kind-hearted grannies vape, they’ll have a change of heart. Then, go the extra mile and show them some of the more down-to-earth vape pen models and e-liquids with a more robust and refined flavor.
Show Them All Different Flavors
Another thing that makes people a bit skeptical about vaping is some of the quirkier e-juice flavors. Again, they see the younger crowd in literal clouds of something that smells like bubblegum or candy and don’t think it would agree with their palate.
That’s where your knowledge of different types of vape juice flavors and mixes comes into play. Going with a more basic tobacco and herbal flavors in an e-liquid that’s more PG than VG will offer a more robust throat hit and some of that light bitterness.
Of course, if you have someone who’s had enough of their whole house smelling of tobacco, show them some of the more creative flavors and explain that the vapor dissipates quickly and won’t leave the curtains smelling funny for days.
A skeptic will always try to undermine your arguments and shy away from things they don’t know enough about, so it’s your job to educate them. Show them all the information out there, help them see all the different options and flavors, and tell them that anyone can vape. If you devote a bit of your time and prepare a list of facts and options, you’ll win every time.
